World of Warcraft Character Activity RSS Feeds
For a bit, I have been pretty active in Azeroth. The guild I was in imploded while I was away. But this isn’t a gossip rag and I’m not enough in the know to comment on it except that it was a real shame. It was the first guild I ever joined and was invited while I was still on a trial account. It was one of the things that influenced my decision to subscribe to WoW. Originally I had no intention at all in subscribing to WoW. But that’s another story for another evening. Chances are your reading this to hear about this RSS Feed thang I mentioned in the title.
Recently, well back in December, Blizzard added character and calendar RSS Feeds. I’ve always wanted something like this. A simple text feed of my activity. I couldn’t tell you how many times I have seen some sort of achievement flash by without catching what they were. Some nights I’ve done more than 5 so I can’t see it in recent achievement summary. And having a record of what BoP or epic drops I have won and when and where they came from. All this info is in the RSS Feed. You can see mine on the side of this blog if you scroll down a little. Their does seem to be a bug a bug and it’s a bad one. All the links are broken. At least they are on this blog and I assume it’s not the Word Press RSS feed gadget. You don’t need a website to view these. In case you are unfamiliar with RSS feeds, you can get an RSS reader or get a plugin for your browser. If you use Firefox, there is one built right into it, they are called Live Bookmarks. It would probably be a good idea to remember the WoW Armory is in Beta. So sometimes, like while I was writing this, it doesn’t work correctly. Anyway, head on over to www.wowarmory.com and log in. You will also want to check out The WoW Character Feed FAQ over at Spoon Craft. They did a real good job on the FAQ so I see no reason to write on also. Before you know it, you’ll be tracking your progress too.
