Some Zen

I came across this and really liked it so I just thought I’d paste it here.

Each of you has a priceless
Jewel in your own body.
It radiates light through your eyes,
Shining through the
Mountains, river, and earth.
It radiates light through your ears,
Taking in all sounds, good and bad.
It radiates light through
Your six senses day and night.
This is also called absorption in light.
You yourself do not recognize it,
But is it in your physical body,
Supporting it inside and out,
Not letting it tip over.
Even if you are carrying
A double load of rocks
Over a single-log bridge,
It still doesn’t let you fall over.
What is it?
If you seek in the slightest,
It cannot be seen.

Los Angeles Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers

It’s feels like it’s been a long playoff series. Even though they didn’t go 7 games, after some of their losses, I’m sure I wasn’t the only Lakers fan to wonder if they were goin to make it.  After their last loss, I was thinking there was a pretty good chance there was going to be a game 7 in LA. But last night, the Lakers looked good. They reminded me of the team we have seen this season. Durring the playoffs, we only saw a glimpse of what the Lakers are capable of. Everyone seemed to have bad nights and struggle with bad shots and free throws. The only question was who or how many of them were going to have a bad night. But last night, we saw what the Lakers can do, when they are all playing, like we know they can. I was particularly happy to see D. Fish nail his shots. It’s been a while since he has had a good night and if you’ve followed the Lakers over the years, you know what Fisher is capable of. It wasn’t so long ago that he hit the clutch shots, at the end, that won it for them. And Lamar Odoom was looking good as he brought it to the hole and was even smiling. Lamar anf Pau both scored 20 points. Even Luke Walton was hitting his shots, including a long  jumper in the forth, that I thought was a 3 pointer, but turned out to be a 2. And Shannon Brown should be given a lot of credit. The Lakers had a comfortable lead most of the game. However, towards the end of the 3rd, it looked like the momentum had shifted and Denver was making quite a run and catching up fast. Then Phil sent in Shannon Brown, and he scored and it was as if the Lakers were re-energized and put the Nuggets run to an end. And what can you say about Kobe. If it wasn’t for him, the Lakers wouldn’t even smell victory this late in the season. Kobe showed why he should have been the MVP this year. He was constantly talking to his teammates like he was their coach, offering up advice when ever needed. At one point, Pau was on the ground after he took a hard foul. Kobe leaned over to Pau who was still on the ground, one could only guess what he was saying but it was probably related to not getting mad, but getting even and hit his next 2 free throws.

After the game, the Nuggets coach, George Karl, was quoting as saying “I think Jesus would have had a hard time guarding Kobe.” While on the subject of George Karl, I might feel some pity for Denver, if it wasn’t for some of Karl’s remarks. Most notably, when he was complaining about the calls the refs were making, or not making. Blaming the loss on the ref’s is pretty lame and it sends your team the wrong message. If you want to win, figure out what your team can improve upon and don’t waste time complaining about “bad” or “non” calls. There was plenty of times Denver wasn’t called for fouls too. I saw Kobe get fouled plenty of  times and the whistle never sounded. The Lakers won this last game because they out played the Nuggets, plain and simple. Maybe Karl should look at the score again, 92-119. They didn’t just lose, they got beat bad. How many bad calls do you need to get beat like that?

This was a win the whole team can be proud of. Everyone contributed and when they do, it leads to victory. And victory was on Pau Gasol’s mind.

This is the Laker team that can win the championship. This is the team I’ve been waiting to see, the team we’ve all needed. A team, worthy of being called The World Champions. When Kobe can count on the rest of the team, and they are knocking them down, the Lakers are unstopable. Let’s hope this is the Laker team that shows up Thursday and for the rest of the games, and their bi-polarism was cured. What would be more fitting for them to win another championship on this, their 30th trip to the finals. Phil can finaly have a ring for all of his digits and become the coach with the most championships, ever.

WoW I Hit Level 70

It’s been a while since I’ve updated any of my blogs. I’ve got another job in the evening now, playing World of Warcraft. It’s a job that I’ve been devoted to for a while now. Unfortunatly, I’m not getting paid for it. In fact, I have to pay.

Nobelgarden Has Started

Posted on : Thu 04-30-2009 | By : Chris

Looks like it’s going to be another week of not doing much more than going to work, and coming home and playing World of Warcraft. You see, Noblegarden started last Sunday and I am determined to complete all the achievements for this event. But I’ve only got untill Friday night.

At lunch time today, I finished one more of the Noblegarden achievements. It’s one where you have to go around and find your rabbit some good lovein’. I’ve completed 9 of the 11 achievements. Only 2 more to go and hopefully I’ll get thoes done tonight.

Why would spend his lunch hour and stay up untill an obscene hour in the morning, on work nights no less, playing a game online?!? So I can become The Noble Kardellron! You see, if I can get all these Noblegarden achievements done before 11:59 PM, Friday night, I get “The Noble” title added to my name. If I don’t get them all done, well I won’t hang myslef, but I won’t get “The Noble” title and I will have lost all this sleep for nothin…

No time for pictures right now, I gotta get back to the grind.

World of Warcraft 3.1.0 & 3.1.1

I’ve been a little slower with the posts around here. I’ve got several videos to post still but I’ve been kind of busy. You see, World of Warcraft has churned out to new updates in the last week or so. The big 3.1 patch came out on, I want to say the 15th. Which was followed by the usual downed servers and bugs. It also brought us Ulduar which is a real cool looking instance. There are also many changes, which I won’t get into here because there are plenty of places out there already talking about them. I will say that it looks like my Night Elf Hunter can go back to being a Beast Master again. This makes me happy too. I was playing a Survival Hunter as of the last patch because the Beast Master got nerfed so bad. I was pretty disgusted by that. The whole point of me choosing a Hunter when I started playing was so I could be a Beast Master. After re-specing as a Beast Master the other night, it seems to be effective again.

Two other changes I am happy to see are; dual spec and not needing to go to the stable to swap pets. I can now set up 2 different tallent tree specs, and swap them anytime I’m not in combat. So far I haven’t tried it because I wanted to play my newly re-spec’ed Beast Master, and at a cost of 1,000 gold, I’ll wait untill I really need it.

My guild, well the guild I joined, has become a raiding guild. So I’m trying to hit level 80 ASAP so I can join in on the raiding goodness. As of this writing I’m level 66, so I have a ways to go. With all this going on, I’ve been coming home from work and jumping right into World of Warcraft.  So my blogs have slowed down as a result.  Don’t worry, at least I got the yard cleaned so it doesn’t look like someone who plays WoW is living here, anymore…

Coachella Live Video Stream

Jack Johnson Cherry PickerAT&T Music will be broadcasting Coachella. I was watching it a little bit ago and the audio and video quality was real good. I go so far as to say impressive. But a couple songs into
Franz Ferdinand
and it went black. That was over 20 mins ago and it is still streaming black. No audio, no video. I loaded Wire Shark and took a look at my network traffic, and sure enough, I’m still getting packets from the stream.  Hahah, it just came back. So it’s working again. Then again, it stopped again before I finished this post. If you wanna just go directly to the video stream, click here here. It may or may not be working. Hope they get it straightened out.

Tonight, Paul McCartney will be head lining. In fact, why don’t I just paste the line up for ya.

Some More Snowboarding Video

One more skiing and snowboarding video I made this year. I don’t have many more of these stashed away. This one I experimented with using more slow mo and some different music. The footage was sent to use by Mammoth Mountain over the satellite. A couple hours later I had this little video.

Embeded Video Fail

I removed my previous post. I had changed some settings in the php.ini so I can upload bigger videos through the Word Press Media interface. Before I did that, I was getting a error that the files were over 2mb. Gee, ya think, my videos are over 2mb’s. Who would have thunk it. Anyways I fixed it so I can upload files as big as 75mb. But when I tried to use the built in player, FAIL. So I removed the post. I’ll just use the plugin I was using before.

indianpad spammer update

Just an amusing update about the indianpad.com spammer.

I created an account at indianpad.com, complained about all the spam I was receiving, told them who the users were (all the same guy from the same 2 ip addresses), sent copies of the spam. Then I tried to log in 10 minutes, later to see what was said, I find my account there no longer exists. And the accounts where the spam links, are all still there. I guess indianpad.com supports their spammers. It doesn’t bother me any, I just thought I’d see how they would respond. The funny thing is, the site itself is like a cheesy Indian (East not Native American) rip off of digg.com However, the links that have been left here, go directly to a user account, who has nothing but online pharmacy links.

So if you’re looking to be a blog comment spammer, let me recommend www.indianpad.com Not only will they condone your actions, they will ignore any complaints and delete the accounts of said complainers.

There were never any stated rules here. But I do have a couple rules that I was following. The first one was, I wouldn’t do any tech related posts, I have (insert $shameless_plug) PC CyberTek for that. And the other, all the videos would be my own. But I’ve never been one to follow all the rules so here’s a little video I found over at The Smoking Gun.
