While I finish up an article I’m working on for this blog, I wanted to share with you one of my other loves, skateboarding. It’s too late to bore you with my long history of skateboarding so I’ll just say that I started skateboarding over 30 years ago. I saw Tony Hawk skate when he was still an amateur when we were 13.
The following video is from a contest that is being held at a private skatepark in Los Angeles called The Berrics. This is the forth year of Battle At The Berrics and this year it’s U.S. vs Them. Each round of this elimination bracket style contest has one of the best riders from the U.S. vs one of the best riders from another country. The video I’m posting has one of my favorites, Chris Cole (The US) vs Willow (Germany). The way it works is kind of like the basketball game HORSE except this is called SKATE. One guy does a trick and then the other guy has to match his trick. If he fails to land the trick, he gets one letter of the work SKATE. If the guy who goes first doesn’t make his trick, control of the tricks goes to the other player. This goes on until one of the players had all the letters in SKATE and loses. This is the first round for both Chris Cole & Willow. Whomever wins gets to go on to a second round vs another round 1 winner. The other player gets to go home. Hope you enjoy it.
[NSFW Warning: There are a couple of F bombs dropped when someone misses his trick]
Mammoth Mountain is hosting the Roxy Chicken Jam this weekend. All the top female snowboarders will be there to compete. Even gold medal Olympian Torah Bright will be there.
Here’s a video I found over at http://mimikri.net/ which is a Czech artist sight. I found it while exploring and wanted to share it. I don’t imagine many people would have stumbled across it and I’m not even sure how I ended up there. It was under the PUK-PUK section and to be honest I don’t know what that even means. Either way it’s an interesting use of stop animation and it made me happy. So check it out, won’t ya
AT&T Music will be broadcasting Coachella. I was watching it a little bit ago and the audio and video quality was real good. I go so far as to say impressive. But a couple songs into Franz Ferdinand and it went black. That was over 20 mins ago and it is still streaming black. No audio, no video. I loaded Wire Shark and took a look at my network traffic, and sure enough, I’m still getting packets from the stream. Hahah, it just came back. So it’s working again. Then again, it stopped again before I finished this post. If you wanna just go directly to the video stream, click here here. It may or may not be working. Hope they get it straightened out.
Tonight, Paul McCartney will be head lining. In fact, why don’t I just paste the line up for ya.
One more skiing and snowboarding video I made this year. I don’t have many more of these stashed away. This one I experimented with using more slow mo and some different music. The footage was sent to use by Mammoth Mountain over the satellite. A couple hours later I had this little video.
There were never any stated rules here. But I do have a couple rules that I was following. The first one was, I wouldn’t do any tech related posts, I have (insert $shameless_plug) PC CyberTek for that. And the other, all the videos would be my own. But I’ve never been one to follow all the rules so here’s a little video I found over at The Smoking Gun.

You can also check out some of the action from last years slope style comp, by watching the video I made, below…
