It’s been a while since I’ve updated any of my blogs. I’ve got another job in the evening now, playing World of Warcraft. It’s a job that I’ve been devoted to for a while now. Unfortunatly, I’m not getting paid for it. In fact, I have to pay.
I just got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. I was going to oredr it through New Egg. It was a little cheaper there, and it had free shipping. Plus I would have got the box and the cd. However, recently I ordered some items from New Egg and they have been shipping the “FREE SHIPPING” items through DHL. Well DHL sucks! When New Egg was shipping stuff with UPS, I would get it next day 90% of the time, 2 or 3 days at wost. Now that DHL is shipping it, it takes over a week, and the last item took 10 days. I took a look at DHLs tracking and they get the item, and then 3 days later, they send it to me through the USPS, which leaves me with virtualy no tracking. I’ve ordered over $10,000 worth of products from New Egg over since 2003. I never had any complaints with the shipping untill DHL became the courier. Sorry to go of on a rant about DHL, but it really pisses me off that they take so long to ship anything, and then they end up sending it through USPS after they have sat on it for several days.
That’s why I ordered WOTLK, directly through Blizzard and paid a few dollars more for a direct download, instead of getting it from New Egg, retail box and all. Early this morning, I hit level 70. So I’m glad I didn’t order it from New Egg, because a USB flash drive that I ordered from them last week, when I was also going to order WOTLK, still hasn’t shown up. I’ll bet it comes in a DHL package with US postage stamps on it.
By the way, I complained, in a review of an item I orderd from New Egg, some memory I ordered for a client, about how long it was taking to get here. I think it was 10 days at that point, and New Egg removed the post because it goes against their Terms, to post anything complaining about any courier they should use. I was just trying to warn people that if they used the free shipping, they should be aware that it won’t be shipped promptly, like us long time New Egg customers have become accoustemed to. Consider yourself warned.
